Re: Diversity Committee Chair Report


Work Accomplished

  • Convened first Diversity Committee meeting, laying out goals and vision, as well as assigning liaison roles to committee members in order to connect with underrepresented constituencies
  • Connected with professional staffers within ASM, Multicultural Student Center, and United Council to ask for trainings to be delivered to Diversity Committee in order to develop skills and leadership for committee effectiveness
  • Attended meeting of GSSF group Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano Aztlan to stay abreast of issues revolving around negotiations with UW Administration about new off-campus space
  • Met with Dr. Damon Williams of the Office of Equity and Diversity to begin our relationship as campus actors committed to ensuring diversity.


Goals for Next Week

  • Review timeline for allocations with board
  • Work with staff to finalize intern project
  • Set up meeting to discuss and finalize CfLI office space and decide how space will be used for next year
  • Set up meeting with SIFE and SBI to discuss use of space
  • Present phone charger stations to board for approval
