ASM DISCUSSES NEXT STEPS IN 18+ ENTERTAINMENT CAMPAIGN

November 26, 2012

MADISON, WI — The Associated Students of Madison’s Legislative Affairs Committee met on Monday, November 19 to discuss the next steps of the 18+ entertainment campaign. The campaign is focused primarily on opening up more entertainment options for students between the ages of 18-20 in the city of Madison.

Legislative Affairs Vice Chair Rachel Lepak is leading the campaign, and met with Scott Resnick, and Mark Woulf last week to discuss the next steps in the campaign. Legislative Affairs will be attending the Alcohol Licensing Review Committee meeting next Monday, and Vice Chair Lepak plans to meet with the Mayor sometime in the coming weeks.

Legislative Affairs Chair Dan Statter stated: “18+ entertainment is important to campus because it affects roughly half of the students here. Legislative Affairs is working to expand the availability of 18+ entertainment, and we’re very pleased with how the campaign has progressed so far. The Alcohol Licensing Review Committee meeting next week will be a big step for us, and we encourage any interested students to join us.”

The ALRC meeting will be at the City County Building (210 MLK Road) at 5:30PM next Monday, November 26.
