MADISON, WI — The Associated Students of Madison’s Legislative Affairs Committee is currently lobbying state Senators and Representatives on behalf of the Responsible Action Bill it worked to propose last Fall. Legislative Affairs Vice Chair Morgan Rae has led the effort, and is scheduling meetings with legislators to advocate for the legislation.

Vice Chair Rae has been working with Senator Fred Risser’s office on developing the approach they will use to introduce the Responsible Action Bill to the Senate and Assembly. The legislation will be sent around for co-sponsorship next, giving Senators and Representatives the opportunity to read the legislation, and sign off on their support for it. Immediately afterwards, Responsible Action will be introduced to the Senate.

Vice Chair Rae attended the last United Council Convention, where interested individuals wrote letters to their Senators and Representatives, showing their support for Responsible Action. Some Representatives wrote back to their students, and Vice Chair Rae is arranging appointments with their offices to lobby on behalf of the legislation.

Those interested in lobbying on behalf of Responsible Action should contact Morgan Rae via email at or via telephone at (920) 213-7543.
